Dr. Dominic Dousa, professor of music at UTEP and a new Tom Lea Fellow recipient, will present an evening filled with original chamber music. Three Tom Lea paintings – Altar of the Earth, Comanches, and Franciscan Friar Showing a Book to the Indians – provided the inspiration for the composition as they evoke the spirit of the landscape and narratives about the American Southwest. The chamber ensemble will capture the varying energy of each work. After the performance, join an uplifting discussion with Dr. Dousa and the musicians over appetizers.
